For the next six nights this is our home - not a bad view :-)

Getting here was a real mission: there was a broken down train in the Channel Tunnel so our train had to reverse out and go down the next tunnel, which in turn meant that we missed our connection in Paris - all of which added over two and a half hours to our journey time to Avignon.

We're in proper wine country: the air here in Lorgues is scented with pine and cypress - it's gorgeous, a real antidote to London. I'm reminded constantly of the film A Good Year - the City boy arriving in Provence and being won over in spite of himself. Provence was really the star of that movie - and it's going to be the star of our holiday too.
