Compressed Space
It was a beautiful afternoon out on the bay and since it was a holiday there were a lot of people out sailing. This boat caught my eye and I grabbed my camera to grab my blip. We always talk about telephoto lenses "compressing space" and here is a classic example.
To understand the distance, the Port you see is Oakland and I am shooting from San Francisco with a 400mm (equiv) lens. The distance across is about 4.5 miles and that boat was maybe a mile or so away. So, boat to shore line is about 3 miles!
