Our five mile world

Spring spruce

Below freezing temperatures again but as our wood burning stove keeps going all night, we are greeted by a warm glow every morning when we walk into the sitting room. Bill lights it in October and keeps it lit 24/7 until April with the occasional hot ash removal.

Collected Amy from her sleep over and dropped her off with her other friend E. She has such a great time here. Her mum and little sisters are arriving by train tomorrow so we will have a full house as we only have two bedrooms!

Whilst shopping this morning in the village we spotted our local butcher shop having a spring freshen up!
Bill is passionate about shopping locally and hates what he calls the 'bully boy' tactics of the large supermarkets. We are so lucky to be able to buy a good range of foodstuffs here.

I can feel the sap rising within me and a strong sense of my increased energy. I do tend to hibernate during the winter months.

Missing L,A and F.
