Ordinary

MonoMonday : Time

A hundred years is about the limit that we can hope to live. It's quite an achievement if we do, something to celebrate. A long time by any standards.

These flowers aren't so much celebrating as commemorating. They're blooming in the Heroes' Walk, which was planted in our town centre park to commemorate the centenary of the Great War.
They're just ordinary field flowers, nothing grand. The local lives that they honour were ordinary, too.
But extraordinary in duty and courage and sacrifice.

Time passes, but their name liveth for evermore.
