I Was Here First!

I thought an early morning stroll around Mary Cairncross Park would be just the thing. It was a cool start to the day so I kept to the patches of sunlight as I followed the path round the edge of the reserve.

I did a bit of an emergency stop as I came round a corner to find something else had grabbed the next patch of sunshine. Carpet Pythons are 2-3 metres long and while not venomous, a bite will require tetanus treatment. This one seemed peaceful so I thought I might sidle round it - but then it opened its jaws and I thought a discreet withdrawal to the park cafe was the best option!
