This blossom centre is completely encapsulated in water - rain is so pretty on plowers!

The tiny weevil just broke out of the 'shell' of the bubble. It was fascinating seeing him 'break through'. Now he is on the run! That's him on the left towards the top of the stamens - he's heading off around the back.

Enlarge it and you'll get an idea of just how tiny he is . When you think that those stamens are only about 1 cm long you realise how small he really is.
