at home with an Ivysaurus

Race to the sea

This photo was taken this afternoon out at the Ardmair campsite after Ayesha sent me a message after lunch to say 'cake?' Best idea ever, altough it did involve both Ivy and I getting out of pjamas... Ivy ate most shared some of my bannana cake. We had to do a spot of baby herding as at any moment one would be heading towards the sea and the other would be on the road.

Ivy gazed at Ayesha the whole way home and when we unbuckled her from her car seat wanted Ayesha to hold her instead of me. I think she fancies a change on Mummy to the one who suggested Banana cake....

When Euan got home, Ivy wanted to go play in the garden (she did come back to have her cardigan put on like a good girl though). Euan went and joined her and they played a spot of crochet. She came back in to help me with the washing though- Euan has never seen her help load the machine before and was very impressed.

As we were preparing dinner (chilli cooked in my all-singing-all-dancing pressure cooker Granny Grant and Pops got us) Laura came to the door, so she stayed for dinner. Ivy ate her pudding (yoghurt with coco powder in) all by herself using a spoon. All she needed was someone to hold the bowl to make sure she didn't knock it over.

At lunch today Ivy nodded 'Yes' for the first time.

It turned out to be a good thing we fed Laura, since she later bailed us out, as when Ivy had gone to bed we discovered the washing machine wasn't draining. From all the time i've spent loitering on cloth nappy support pages, I knew about the drainage pipe, so we manually drained our machine and took the load of half washed nappies round to Laura.

Euan started brewing his beer tonight that I got him for christmas. It's fermenting in a nappy bucket in our upstairs linen closet, we are both trying to resist the temptation to prod it.
