Mission Complete

Our mission to visit every Rockefeller bridge within Acadia National Park is now complete. BJ and I have taken, including this one, three trips to Acadia and have seen amazing sights along the carriage trails, on mountains and along the shores of Bar Harbor. The mission to see all of the bridges started with our first trip, our 10th anniversary. Continued with our family trip (the epic fail trip) last year with the kids. and ended happily today with this lovely bridge.

Today, we decided to take the bikes and ride with the kids. Mom and Dad stayed behind at the campground with Mace (thank you!). We were doing so well that we decided to hike Bald Mountain while we were there... amazing views from the top. Although, truth be told, Kaylee and I chose to sit and take in the views while the boys continued to the tippy top of the summit.

A very fun, redeeming day for all of us. We know now that we CAN tackle the carriage trails with the right equipment, we can laugh and have fun while doing it, and we are stronger than we think we are - proved today by our 7 mile bike ride and hike up the mountain!
