B.A.C.K. to Basics

Beached

Ahh... a long weekend. We are so excited to be camping with Mom and Dad this weekend. The kids really enjoyed camping over Memorial Day and begged us to go again.

This time, we wanted to go coastal... Bar Harbor it is! Mom and Dad had never taken the RV here, and we wanted to try to complete our mission to see every Rockefeller bridge within Acadia National Park. So, the bikes, the truck, the families, the dog and yummy camp food were loaded on and away we went.

We are staying at the same campground we had last year, only difference, is this year we have the RV to sleep in... a HUGE upgrade from our tent last year (see Blip of August 2013). When we arrived there was some confusion about what site we were to set up in, BJ and I took the dog for a walk while Mom, Dad and the kids scoped out the campground.

On our walk to the "public beach" we found this beauty beached on the shore during low tide. It seemed the owners did this yearly for regular maintenance to the underside of the boat. It gives them a chance to scrape the barnacles and paint the hull. We were thrilled by the "public beach" as well... what a gem! It was quiet, not busy, calm waters (a cove), and dogs were allowed. BONUS! Having it less than a 1/4 mile from the campground was even better.

Tonight's agenda is swimming, smore's and stories by the campfire. Love this RV lifestyle... such fun!
