Purple Clematis
Dull but dry day with no wind.
Very quiet day for me, needing to rest, end up looking after young granddaughter because she is off school feeling unwell - fortunately this was easy as she just wanted to lie down quietly. Having finished reading Peter May's excellent book 'No Entry' I have re-started reading Andrew Marr's 'A History of the World'. I have reached the times when cities were being built around 4,000 years ago so this will take me some time to read, although Andrew Marr has a very readable style.
I did manage out into the garden where many flowers are past their best - must be getting near Autumn. However the purple Clematis is still looking good - I hope the image of the stamens reaching for whatever light they can get brightens your day.
By now you will know that this is the last day before our Referendum Day. All the talking is nearly done - now it is over to 'we, the people'. I had thought I would stay up over night to get the results as they come in but I now have to be in Perth Royal Infirmary by 8.30am on Friday for a procedure to try and heal a wound in my scalp. This was the result of a biopsy in May so I shall be pleased if it finally clears up.
Happy R-Day tomorrow for my Scottish friends.
