Boiler Maintenance

We have our annual boiler maintenance at the apartment today so we decided to stay close to home. A visit to the supermarket was followed by lunch by the lake. After all the activity next to the lake on market day, things look very quiet today.

The bars take it in turn to close, and obviously none of them close on market day. Today it is the turn of the Bar Golfo which is looking very deserted in this photograph.

Another reason Lenno is quiet on a Wednesday, the Villa Balbianello, Lenno's main tourist attraction, is closed today.

The brilliant blue sky we had until Sunday has deserted us. It was still sunny the last couple of days, but there was hazy cloud covering the sky. Today is properly cloudy, though still warm enough to sit comfortably outside for lunch.

The gas man is only 40 minutes late so far, but we hope he will turn up before going home for tea. At least here we are safely sheltered from all the news about tomorrow's independence referendum.
