THAT LAZY DAY I

had looked forward to.
And a wonderful sunny one too.
In the afternoon Piet Hein and I walked into the valley to buy some food things.
But first we went to the shore of the river and the swan pair was at the side of the camping that we had entered to reach the Weser. Some years ago this swan pair had had their last off-spring, since then not one of the eggs brought forth a cygnet.
The harbour walls are rebuild and their home is now for a long time only the river. It seems they do not care.
One of the two was bathing in the water, the other had stayed at the shore.
Fascinating to see how thoroughly the one of the picture went along. The persons that sad outside their tent nearby told me he/she had been busy already for an hour.

My haiku:

Wash your white feathers
Once more and again they will
Shine the coming hours

And the proverb:

To wash one's face in an ale-clout.

(= to get drunk)
