This picture is the answer to last week's blip with the pulley!

The window! This window lowers all the way down into the space in the sous sol, operated by a cog and wheel pulley system!

Philip loved watching this in the sous sol. Every sports day the window was lowered completely to create a bar servery!

As I write this we are having the most amazing thunder storm and heavy rain - the first rain in at least 3 weeks!

I hope all my Scottish friends are content with the result today. A cheer went up in the playground this morning when I announced to the children at 0830 CEST that the Union Flag would remain unchanged.
