This week end my cousin and her husband came to visit. The weather has been beautiful but as we set off for a walk the heavens opened!

Philip and I had looked forward to exploring the forest on the mountain above our house and this is what we set off to do. It was a beautiful walk and not too wet under the cover of the trees but as we headed down and out into the open we were drenched!

It is the time of year when all the fungi are coming out! We spotted these fellows at the edge of the forest. We were not brave enough to pick any - even though in France you can take your mushroom harvest to the pharmacie where they offer a free service to tell you which are edible!
