End of the cycle..

..plough and cultivate, sow, feed and nurture, harvest..

Down south, straw was burned, it was of no value. Now farmers are not allowed to burn, so combines have choppers. This creates more dust than was ever created by burning. However, here in Scotland, straw has value. As bedding, as feed, and fields are scattered with round bales. These have to be collected, and stacked..

Drove down to Inverness to pick G up, these bales were in the fields between Strathpeffer and Strath Connon..

The drive down was lovely, with frequent heavy showers, and sunny spells. Shadows raced across the mountains of Sutherland, rapidly followed by rainbows that reached from one side of the horizon to the other. Quite magical..
