If you can't beat them...

Solace day 4: Reflections.

The shot is the reflection of light from ripples on the surface catching the underside of a bridge on the Oxford Canal.

On the canal I am always the last to rise I am afraid that unlike CC and "The Mate" I don't bounce out of bed looking for the "golden hour" light shots. They were rewarded by early mist rising from the canal, by the time I surfaced it had almost all gone.

The boat is a share boat run by a syndicate of 12 families and the log for the previous fortnight had mentioned an intermittent starting problem which seemed to have cleared its self. Oh no it hadn't. So it was down into the "engine hole (the engine is under the deck where the person on the tiller stands) for "The Mate" and myself. We started with basics and cleaned the battery terminals and thankfully she started.

It was hot and sunny all day and we were travelling straight into the sun. One member of the crew (the sensible one who works the locks) had remembered to take his broad brimmed hat. The "Galley Slave" and the "Helmsman" hadn't! Travelling is so much easier when the guy steering can see where he is going! Fortunately CC spotted a canal side small chandlers/grocers baseball caps solved the problem.

CC is still suffering from her back but insists she is having a wonderful time.
