Turkish Delight.....

......enveloped me today when I received two copies of this 'Comprehensive Guidebook to the Aladaglar' from Turkey through the post. The photo shows one of my illustrations of a very famous rock pinnacle called the 'Finger Rock' (at least that's the polite name) which is 230M high. (I posted another drawing on Blip on July 18th of this feature.) It is the top tick on any climber's list who goes to the area.

This area is now a National Park and a bit similar in character to the Dolomites but much smaller & much less developed. I hope to go there next spring for an extended visit & do a lot of trekking, climbing & drawing.

The stamps surprised me with their Arabic influence, a change from previously more European looking designs since the current ruling party took over.
