Loose
Bullock Harbour's granite blocks are on the move. Before I pulled in, as I often do to see if there's anything/anyone to photograph, I noticed a man lifting a huge rock and throwing it down, seemingly with violence. It looked from a distance as if he might be finishing off some animal (a wounded seal?). As became clear when I stood on the edge of the harbour, Ian was building a kind of breakwater. Recent storms had begun to dislodge the building blocks of the harbour wall, so the residents had clubbed together to hire some heavy machinery and move a few tons of stones over to the seaward side, to shore up the wall and divert the sea's wrecking-ball waves. It seems to be working apparently, though more shoring up will be necessary.
