Another glorious day
After a little bit of rain overnight, it was a glorious walk to work, by mid morning it was as warm as a summers day. Still no coat or jacket on walking to work, it is most strange.
I have read tonight that the village of Mardale Green which was flooded in the 30s to create a reservoir (Haweswater) to feed water to Manchester, is starting to show as the water levels of Haweswater recede due to such a dry September. I have seen the remnants of the village before, in 1995 when J was first born and once since I think. It's a bit eery though, the villagers were evicted, their houses blown up and the stone used to create the damn. They dug up their dead in their coffins from the graveyard, and had to rebury them elsewhere. Sad but those of manchester needed their water!
