Brother beyond with the nifty 50

Nifty 50, plastic fantastic, call it what you will, it was fun trying out my new one today. It's neat, means I can take pics of the boys looking up without it zooming in uncontrollably by gravity when my left hand is elsewhere occupied, at first glance the bokeh rendition is not dissimilar to the Big Fella's, of course loving the DOF, but I seriously miss the image stabilizer and the tracking focus. Think I've mentioned before that I almost never use flash as I love low and natural light photography so IS is a bit of a must. That all said, it brings me back to my early cameras in the '80s when 50 was the norm. I must get them all out for a grand parade blip some day.

Let's see how long it takes me to put the Big Fella back on again...

I used panning for this shot and am pleasantly happy on reflection that the angle is not in the swinger, but the horizon so as to stop Callum mid flight.

PPS I'm doing my 1st ever professional headshots tomorrow for an LA experienced actor friend. Any hints please. Always a bit scary trying something new.

PPPS Don't bother looking at the camera info with these ones. You'll just get lots of 50 and 1.8s! Feels weird all the same seeing such a big aperture
