Riquewihr

We took the boys to the vets this morning to get their passports in order for our journey back home on Sunday, then when we got back we had a wander around the quieter streets of the village. There was also a very small market on where we bought a grape vine for planting in the garden of our new house. The grapes are for eating not for making wine, which is good as I can't imagine us having a vineyard.

For lunch I made a picnic and we took a bottle of wine with us and walked up to the vineyards and found a lovely spot in the sun looking down on the village. It was really peaceful and no-one went past apart from the tourist train - he rang his bell so we raised our glasses at us. This was our view and it's quite a contrast to the last time I blipped it on Christmas day in 2012 as you can see here when all the vines were bare.

We're now heading out to one of the wine caves to buy some wine to take home, and then we're out for dinner tonight. We've had a lovely last day here, and tomorrow we're heading back to the champagne region and are staying in a chateau near Epernay, so I'll say Au Revoir from Riquewihr!
