what we did today...

Happy 5th birthday!

I've not managed to get the birthday boy to stop bouncing enough to have an in focus photo today. But I think the remains of his cake is a good reflection of the day. Tho there is no evidence of the pile of lego that has been and is to be constructed over the weekend. I think he's had a fab day.

I've baked a cake and cake pops and decorated the blip cake. We had 2 of the boy's friends round for tea and then birthday cake - all plates were empty and resounding "yum" as they ate it. Well done Bake Off recipe book once again!

Next stop the school pals party - 10 4/5yr olds in my house for an hour and a half... Activities will include some of or all (depending how long the first one keeps then occupied!)
- making foam light sabres and practising using them on balloons in garden
- freeing Han Solo from his iced bicarb (carbonite) prison (hoping adding vinegar is as spectacular as it should be!)
- pin the part on the lego man
- hunt the hidden asteroids in the garden
- decorate a Death Star biscuit
- decorate a planet pop cake
- design a droid
- target practise: throwing water bombs at targets of chalk til they are rubbed out
....hopefully that and the party tea will keep them occupied for the hour n half!
And I have a bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge for opening at 4pm tomorrow!
