Reminiscing ...

Earlier in the week someone mentioned Sting in their blip (mono Monday ~ music) which made me think about concerts I had been too ... Many moons ago!!!
Again today a conversation at work about music and concerts made me reminisce.
You may have gathered that my first concert in December 1980, was to go and see the Police. It was in a Big Top on Tooting Bec Common and a couple of weeks before the concert we queued up all night on the common to get our tickets!!!!
The support acts were Rico ?? A ska trombonist... Very good!!... Jools Holland... Very good!!...and Tommy Cooper who got heckled for those waiting to see the top act!! I loved the concert and how close we were to the band.
.... That christmas I was very ill with flu ... Maybe queuing all night on the common in mid December was not such a great idea!!
Other concerts I have been to include :-
Ultravox, Depeche Mode, UB40, Jean Michel Jarre, Lionel Ritchie, Steve Hacket, Pink Floyd, Asia, Elton John, Beach Boys, Queen, Rainbow, Status Quo, Rod Stewart, Sting.... And the Spice Girls! There are probably more too but my memory is failing me in old age!! ;-)
