"Daddy's gonna buy you a dream to cling to"
Sorry Barry - Daddy-in-law hasn't yet won the jackpot but has your dream noted on the list!
Yet another day of messing about with bees but gave up very quickly, the sunshine making life too difficult. I wonder if this small project will get finished before February.
So turned my hand to MrB's new trailer. Lots of flexing, hammering, dust & dirt have managed to tidy it up a bit and lighten it of several hundred kilos of unwanted metal.
In the evening, MrB turned up with edible goodies from his sojourn in Italy. Nogbad can explain better than I - South Tyrol is in Italy but thinks it's Austrian. Austria has the same sort of problem as Scotland. Some would like to be independent from Bavaria! Seriously the area has been fought over since WWI and only officially got sorted in 1992.
The area is, amongst others, noted for it's wine & food and it's a popular pasttime in the autumn to go "Törggelen" there. Generally taken to be going for a walk with a group of friends to a winemaker's cellar, trying out his wine and eating loads of hams and bread and all other things associated with good, homemade, country fayre. Usually recommended to have your overnight arrangements very close by. Seems Mr&MrsB had a great break and enjoyed good weather and all the rest.....
MrB had an inspection of my pre-delivery work on his trailer. Nodded his approval & ordered a high pressure water clean before accepting ownership. As always a 5 minute, "I haven't got time for a drink" turned out to take somewhat longer but eventually with the sun below the horizon and armed with a fennel from the veg plot for his evening fruit salad, he mounted his trusty, Austrian built, steed (KTM 990 EFI - 106HP) and headed homewards to park it next to his other two wheeled steed. Of course soon his fleet will be improved by my 2 wheeled trailer.
Have to go and enter my ticket for Saturday's lottery ... I will keep on trying Barry.... and in the meantime take solace in the fact that MrB's steed doesn't have a tow hitch.
