Having a birthday blether...

Today was Mum's birthday and, despite being away, she managed a haul of fourteen cards and lots of pressies.

We went into Thurso, which is where Mum was actually born, and visited a cousin there.

In the evening we headed up the Strath to the coast road and had a birthday meal at the Halladale Inn in Melvich with Annie, whose croft we're staying on, and a couple more of Mum's childhood friends and other ladies who live on the Strath now.
