Ailsa Craig

We are on board the European Highlander - the P&O car ferry heading from Cairnryan to Larne.
This is a distant shot of Ailsa Craig - off the Ayrshire coast, with a gannet in the foreground.
This is a spectacular granite outcrop - an ancient volcanic plug - whose rock is used for making curling stones.
It must be twenty to thirty miles away in the mist.
