Selfie With Fire Truck and Extra Legs

It was Neighborhood Block Party Day around here, and our area had a potluck around the corner with about forty people hanging around in the street. Kids playing, grownups introducing themselves, all of us having some great food and delighting in the novelty of a street closed to traffic. The fire truck made an appearance as an educational thing, thrilling kids and adults alike. It's amazing how many people you don't know in the two block radius where you live and walk every day. Now that there are some new names and faces to connect with I hope we can nourish these friendships.

The morning festivities included a garden and chicken coop walk to see some urban farming. There are four coops within a block from our front door, and several more if you venture a bit further. Very elaborate things indeed, and lovely gardens as well.
