A fly by any other name?

Sometimes a plant will grow just where you want it to, all by itself. It is as if the suggestion had been made for us! This verbena bonariensis decided to grow between our wheelie bins and one of the sheds, in a tiny patch of ground.
I couldn't have planned it better myself!
But quite what this fly-like creature is, I am not at all sure!
