Extended Summer

We are experiencing a bit of an Indian summer up here in the north east. We had another gorgeous late summer day today, perfect for celebrating 13 year of married bliss with my lovely, long suffering, husband.

My in-laws had been here for the weekend so they walked the older boys up to school and then took the littlest out for a play in the park, leaving time for Iain and I to have a stroll along to the kilted frog for a coffee. As lovely as that would have been we decided to forgo the coffee and spent the hour having a wee cycle round the estate instead. Beautiful and still coffee, toast and marmalade on our return.

The rest of the day was spent in usual Monday manner except with additional activities for the eldest, which along with last minute homework, meant a late night for him and a romantic dinner for two consumed around the kitchen table to the tune of titanic facts and the 5 times table.

The champagne is on ice. Friday, maybe?
