Green hopping
Adam adds the freshly picked cascade hops to the new brew "Green and Black IPA". Just the 300 grams as you can see it's quite a lot. Adam was assistant brewer and chief hop picker for the day. The black IPA was his choice. I managed to get hold of some blackprinz malt which is dehusked black malt that adds colour but very little bitterness. So the hope is that this black IPA will actually taste true to style. My last attempt came out far too malty and a tad sweet more like a very bitter old ale. It's all American hops for buttering and the home grown cascade for aroma. And it weighs in at an og of 1062. Adam did a splendid job hop picking and stripping the flowers living up to his East end address. All activities powered by Thermal Fuse.
Had a great evening with Adam, mslouella and StorksRock where I cooked my first paella ignoring all my risotto cooking instincts. (DON'T STIR IT!)
