at home with an Ivysaurus

Daddy daughter time

Euan and Ivy went swimming together this morning whilst I went down to the allotment to chat to my spinach seedlings and pick some yellow tomatoes. The ring sling Euan is wearing, I made myself from some special woven wrap fabric. The shoulder if partly knife, partly box pleated and it may be one of the most comfortable of our carriers. Euan certainly reaches for it alot.

She went to sleep much better last night, her birthday must have tired her out.

Starting to realise just how much of what we say Ivy understands. I was worried her bare feet would get cold since the living room rugs are still up following yesterday's rainbow rice. So I said to her 'go and get your shoes'. She looked confussed, then looked and her feet (presumably to check she wasn't wearing any) and then toddled off and came back holding one of Euan's trainers. May not have been the exact instruction, but I didn't think she'd even understand that much.

In the afternoon she took a big long nap, so Euan started bottling his homebrew stout (the face is a manly making beer one). When Ivy woke up she was not impressed at all with the fact she couldn't goto the kitchen and see Daddy and had a very snotty tantrum. She and I went outside to play with her ball to distract her.

We have two tubs of super local (bees from the allotment) cut comb honey just now. Ivy gets to have honey now she's past 1 (the last of the food 'rules' we respected. So for pudding she had natural yoghurt, honey and bannana. Euan was jealous so had to have his own bowl too.

Also today- I took the last in the series of Ivy month by month with King Louie photos. We did change her clothes between month 7 & 8 honest....
