Carrying Wood

Today we took a day-long drive northward in Romania, from Sibiu to Gura Humorului, in the region of Bucovina and the renown Painted Monasteries, which we will tour tomorrow.

We were in our small van literally all day, and I took virtually all my images from it. Here is at least a bit of drama, in the afternoon. This was the third of three horse-drawn wagons piled high with logs, which pulled out impudently in front of us. In fact we were able to pass them easily, despite the riders' grim stares. (Note that there is at least a third passenger on this one--see the extra sneaker.) Note also a church in the background, one of many dozens we passed.
