Eastern Phoebe
A juvenile, hatched this spring. A gusty wind is ruffling its feathers, across the street from our house. Eastern Phoebes are our most common species of flycatcher. The wind followed last night's heavy rain, which we badly needed, after many weeks of virtually no rain at all. Our friends from France left early this morning to drive to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to spend a couple of days in Amish country.
