Our neighbours' house again
Here it is from the road with our house just hidden by the trees on the right of the image. In the foreground is my boar-defence wall that is still standing although has perhaps yet to be tested by a determined boar, the weather having been so mild.
A huge pile of granite, at one stage the whole mas was surrounded by a high wall giving it a fortified appearance - always fascinating to find out the chronology of some of these buildings.
After a lunch at the campsite we set off on the start of our return journey making it as far as a small village called Chatillon near Souvigny in the Allier department. A really civilized Chambre d'Hote in an old mill house was a lucky find. Stunning buildings and interesting couple running it with a decent restaurant in the village. France does this sort of thing well.
