A red-letter event!
Take a look at this, Blippers. It's not the best bird picture; it's not even a good one, BUT, it's the first time since I broke my arm that I was able to lift my SLR to my eye and take a picture. All my other recent blips have been with my little pocket-sized Panasonic. The exciting difference here is the zoom lens. With my 300 mm lens, I could blip this bird out my bedroom window. Trust me, I'm not going to be blipping too many pictures yet because it was a tetch uncomfortable on my arm, but it was just great to be able to get this blip, even if there isn't anything at all exciting about starlings.
We had another sunny day today, the fourth in a row, and an unexpected one because the weather report is for what they call meteorological garbage or something like that: snow, turning to rain, turing to freezing rain, turning to snow, etc. Maybe that's still coming later, but at least Bob and Gulliver got a walk in the park before any of that started.
Thanks so very much for all the birthday wishes yesterday. It was a good day, and that chocolate ice cream cake from Dairy Queen was delicious. I'm looking forward to another piece after supper. Have to be careful though because I haven't been able to get any exercise lately. Don't want to pack on the pounds!
