The Rut

The rut is now well under way. The top image shows a stag where he has taken one female away from his group, who are all lying in the grass in left of the image. Bottom left hopefully shows affection by the female who was rubbing the males antlers with her head. She also rubbed her head along his body which she did between each mating, of which there were several.
