Day 46: Come Rest Your Weary Feet
This was my view while I stayed in to give my body a rest. Being always on the go is sure taking a toll on my body. I wasn't expecting to be traveling to a new city or country almost every other day. Well, I wanted an Amazing Race-like adventure, so this is it!
Now where is Phil to check me in at the pit stop?! Too bad there isn't a million dollars waiting for me at the end of this journey :)
The next leg of our journey takes us through Hanoi and then directly into the heart of Saigon, where we are instant millionaires ($1 USD ~ 21,000 Dong) with one withdrawal at the ATM. As soon as we arrived, the language barrier was immediately apparent but eventually we found an English speaking driver.
Ho Chi Minh City, with a population of 22 million people and 6 million motorbikes, was bustling with activity. And we thought traffic in Thailand was bad??! After being accustomed to several countries where they drive on the left side of the road, here they fearlessly drive on both. Also there aren't even traffic lights or crosswalks at every corner. We were told that to cross the street, we should just step out into traffic, walk very slowly, stop if necessary, and hope that they will safely weave around you. Welcome to Vietnam!
