La Chaise-Dieu
The village of La Chaise Dieu is dominated by its huge Abbey. Currently part of the building is being restored so covered in scaffolding. The interior however is impressive .
The village itself was very quiet today with closed shops and few people around. Later we set off for Arlanc to visit the Lace Museum which like the chateau we tried on Monday was " ferme pour le saison" . This was also the case at some gardens we hoped to see.
We had decided to eat out tonight but arrived at the restaurant in the local village to learn that it served at "midi" and not le soir"
All in all then a strange kind of day and this a random blip of a rather scruffy "Tapisserie" shop, a photo of which was taken as a possible for my holiday photo book which is planned to feature things typically French
