The Mortuary Chapel

One of the joys of London (where I'm working today) is the pleasant surprise when you come across little oases of green among the streets and medium rise flats of Camden Town. Just behind our offices are St Georges Gardens - at one time St George Bloomsbury Burial Ground and St George the Martyr Burial Ground. This Mortuary Chapel would be a place to store coffins prior to burial.

The first official record of body-snatching was from St George's burial ground in 1777.
