A Nontraditional Use for a Moon Roof

Today was a beautiful faux-spring Sunday. We went to church this morning and then were headed to meet up with my parents to attend a children's theatre production of Beauty & the Beast. Knowing we wouldn't have time to come home in between, I had packed sandwiches. We drove to a spot near the airport and picnicked in our car while watching the airplanes take off and land. E had a blast sticking his head up out of the moon roof to get a better look!

Beauty & the Beast was a great show, and because several of my Dad's friends were members of the orchestra, A & E both got to meet many of the musicians and see the instruments up close. The actors, elementary through high schoolers, did an awesome job, and A has been singing a couple of the songs all evening. It was E's first full-length live performance - we figured since he's been to a few movies and was well-behaved during A's Christmas pageant in December, he was old enough to go. He did get a little wiggly during the second half, but overall he did great and definitely followed the plot, which was neat to see. Afterwards, we all enjoyed dinner together.
