Halloween cats
For some reason my kids are super excited about Halloween. I have no idea why except that they're a little bit odd. During the summer holidays Olivia decorated the stairs with halloween decorations that she made (webs and spiders made out of pipe cleaners) which we haven't been allowed to take down. Today they wanted to dress like cats and I even found myself making them tails last night!
As the weather is so good at the moment we decided to try and make the most of the day by getting out early and going for a bike ride and play in the forest. The kids did really well on their bikes except that Olivia's tail kept getting in the way (Dex had long since got rid of his) but she declared it was because she needed a bike with gears. I replied that perhaps she should ask for one for Christmas whereby she just looked at me, shook her head and said:
" You know there's only one thing I want for Christmas and I've already written my letter" (a couple of weeks ago I found a letter on her desk that she written to Santa!).
To which I replied: "but you know that's not possible because you've been asking for that for the last couple of years and whenever a tooth falls out."
Olivia: "I know, but I'm going to keep on asking until I get it."
My daughter is very persistent and no matter how many times we try to tell her ,she will not accept that it is impossible for her to have a real magic wand.
The rest of the afternoon wasn't so good as we'd hoped as I spent it in Hospital.
