Sunshine, scones and art
I had a lovely research day at the Modern Art Gallery, now known as Modern One. The day started with coffee and scones with the lovely Jackie and her Mum. It was great to catch up and to be able to sit outside in the sun in October! This blip is a shadow self portrait.
I really enjoyed the Generation exhibition. It was fab to get back to art with a reason and clever art. I really liked Alex Dordoy's handcrafted copies of computer generated images - his use of acrylics on canvas alongside found objects. I love Allison Watt's fabrics. I enjoy Charles Avery's island series too. It was what I needed to refind my focus and my mojo. It was there all along :-) thank you modern one!
I was so fired up and full of ideas afterwards that I drove straight past the bypass and had to loop across to drop off my dry cleaning past the lovely Secret Herb Garden. It was just destiny that I should stop there for much lunch to ponder my new ideas, jot some down and then acquire a few herbs.
I then had a quick dash home before heading in for parent consultations at the school and to visit the school book fair with a wallet. Afterwards I collected the boys from a play/tea date and then told them how proud I was. So chuffed to hear that after his rocky start in p1 D is now settled and in all essence a star pupil. Pleased to see that C has heeded advice about needing to finish work quickly so teachers know you can do it, as opposed to not bothering to finish as it was so easy. Hopefully it will be onwards and upwards for them both. They went to bed full of how fab they were doing and how they were going to keep working hard and showing their teachers how clever they are. Phew!
A successful day! I may deserve a wee glass of something now I think!
