Zwolferhorn

This is one of the many location signs on Zwolferhorn Berg in St. Gilgen, Austria. We took a cable car to the top of Zwolferhorn. The ride lasted about 15 minutes and we were taken up about 1200 meters. The word “Zwolferhorn” in German literally translates to “twelfth horn.” Zolferhorn is the twelfth notch in a series of Alpine mountains. The view from Zwolferhorn was breathtaking. Upon reaching the top, you could walk out on a platform and view the entire town of St. Gilgen. The reason I chose to take this picture is because it gave me a perspective in meters of how far away I was from different cities. Later, I added a filter to this picture so only the yellow was prominent. The result was a gorgeous, professional looking, photograph. On top of Zwolferhorn, you could walk around and climb small sets of steps to view different monuments close up. There was a cross, multiple signs, and an abundance of scenery. The feeling of being in the Alps is one I will never forget. Each house below appeared to be the size of an ant. It was difficult to grasp the concept of how high up I actually was. Visiting Zwolferhorn is an experience I will never forget.
