Diary of an Edinburgher

A walk with a view!

Today we explored a new walk - up Blackford Hill to the Observatory. Well, a new walk for Archie - we have been there many times and lusted after the dogs out walking. An easy drive up, with one of us sitting in the back with Archie, who seemed happy enough with the new trial arrangement. The pheromone spray has arrived, but I will keep that for a longer journey, possibly next week.

Needless to say, young Archie thought he was in doggy paradise! Lovely new smells, including lots of rabbit poo, and even a pair of frogs' legs - don't know who or what had feasted on the top half... I am glad to say we spotted them before Arch did, and steered him away from them. What a scene that would have caused. Even if we could have caught him, which of us was going to prise open his mouth and take out the legs?? Eeek!

He loved the big clumps of grass, and kept disappearing behind them. Such fun to watch - him charging along, bouncing up to see where he was going. He met a few dogs and had a run around with them. Two Jack Russells started off as fun chasing, then they kind of ganged up in him, but their owner was on to their carry on, and put them on a lead before Archie got scared.

So the quick whizz out in the car proved successful. We decided not to go further, but leave it that and let him have nice dreams this afternoon about his big adventure, and perchance, to look forward to his next ride in the car that takes him to wonderful places.
