ESTEC

Off to ESTEC today for the open day with +1/3; I did some work there about 10 years ago and given its relative proximity (well, to an airport and in this day of cheap flights..) it seemed like a great chance, especially given that +1/3 is interested in aeronautical engineering.

Loads to see and do - satellites, robotics (the haptic demos were cool), rockets, astronauts, absolutely knackering. Better large to see how many spacecraft ESA are involved in. Loads of families and children all over the place too.

The Netherlands is an easy country to like, especially around Leiden in the autumn sunshine and warmth.
