4-5 months of building work which will result in an extension on our house. Although of course it *didn't* actually start as it lashed down with rain for much of the day.

However, a digger and a dump truck were delivered first thing, much to the small boy's excitement. The builder came and drank coffee while talking through the plans with the architect, took a few measurements in the rain, dug a hole in the drive to locate some pipes, then went home again. Even though not much has actually been done yet, I feel better for the fact that we are off the starting blocks. And tomorrow the forecast is mostly dry so fingers crossed for some more digger-action!
