A Big Hole!

After yesterday's abortive attempt at starting the build, great progress was made today. We came home from our trip into town to find a massive hole in the ground at the end of the house. Shep & Louis the builders (although can they be *real* builders? They don't take sugar in their coffee and they didn't eat a single biscuit today..?!!!) have done an amazing job with the digger and dump truck, it really feels like progress has been made. Of course it was all better-than-TV for Ted who watched agog, new library book in hand. All the way round town he had kept saying 'real digger, home'.

Despite the forecast for rain, the concrete lorry is coming tomorrow at 8, so the big hole should be filled in soon. And then, I guess, progress can start upwards!
