After the flood

Yesterday the River Nith burst it's banks. September had been the driest on record, but October is bringing more familiar weather. Last night I was driving through floodwaters on the Whitesands - this morning, I was cycling through the muddy ooze which those waters had left behind. Also left behind was all this woody debris on the riverbank.
