Mr C's idea of a date day

My plan was to relax knitting today, but Mr C had other ideas. The coal merchant charges less if you bag your own, so no prizes for guessing what we did. Then even better, a trip to Alnmouth beach where the sea coal is FREE. (In the very hard-up 1970s we used to gather bags of it to run the Rayburn). This was followed by a brisk walk along the beach to Boulmer. We had to return by road as the tide was so high which meant another total of 8 miles. I'm definitely going to do my knitting now, so no more cunning plans please Mr C.
