Eternal flame

Beneath the Arc de Triomphe, burning continuously since 1921 in memory of the dead who were never identified in WW1 (and now in both world wars).

According to Wikipedia it is the first eternal flame lit in Eurpe since the sacred fire of the Roman Empire of Vesta was extinguished in the year 394.
